KOLKATA: As a precautionary measure to combat dengue and malaria, the three e-Health centers that were opened in New Town last year and run by the New Town Kolkata Development Authority(NKDA) will be utilised as focus centers for control of dengue, malaria and other vector borne diseases.

There are three e-Health Centres being run by NKDA, one at Swapna Bhor, one at the office building complex at Action Area III and one at Jatragachi at Action Area II. There is a qualified doctor looking after the three units on a time share basis and there are para-medicals in each centre who know how to run the machines donated by a private company under their corporate social responsibility last year.

The chief medical officer of health (CMOH), North 24 Parganas district administration and NKDA would jointly launch programmes to create awareness on vector borne disease, conduct blood tests and take first level preventive care in the coming monsoons when such diseases starts to break out and spread.
